You are invited to the FIRST EVER Bishop's Confirmation Day (BCD)!
When? Saturday February 24th 2018 10 am - 1 pm
Where? 1444 Union Ave. Montreal (2nd floor)
Why?
"In Christianity, Confirmation is seen as the sealing of Christianity created in Baptism. Those being confirmed are known as confirmands. In some denominations, such as the Anglican Communion[1] confirmation bestows full membership in a local congregation upon the recipient." (Wikipedia)
The BCD seeks to ....
1. Celebrate your life in faith!
2. Support you on your faith journey!
3. Build sustainable relationships and prayer partnerships!
How?
We have planned an engaging, spiritually uplifting, fun and memorable day just for YOU / Those who have been confirmed or are looking to establish a new life of faith on our diocese...
Please Note that there are no age restrictions on this event.
What will happen?
You will get to hang out with our awesome Bishop, Mary Irwin-Gibson, and acclaimed Youth Minister, Rev Jean-Daniel Williams. You will make new friends and prayer partners.
We will offer workshops such as Drumming with Saya Percussion
Art with Montreal artist Christina Marie Phelps
Christina Marie Phelps has been practicing and teaching visual arts for over fifteen years, both in schools and in the community, and believes strongly in the value of play and collaboration as a tool for artistic expression. Her own practice is concerned with exercises in mixed media and ephemeral street art installations, drawing, painting, and light-based media. Awarded the Erin and Heather Humanitarian Award for her involvement in her community art programming, and the prestigious Art Education Prize at the June 2017 Convocation from Concordia, Christina Marie continues to inspire and create alongside students and youth participants in various Montreal schools, the Queens Creation annual showcase events, and the annual Under Pressure Festival.
