Montreal, October 18, 2023 - The Anglican Church today officially donated the parcel of land on which the Black Rock monument stands to the Montreal Irish Memorial Park Foundation. The Anglican Church has held this parcel of land, covering an area of approximately 734 square metres, since 1870. This property is a key element in the creation of a commemorative park to honour those buried on this historic site, which sits atop the largest mass grave in Canada.

Montréal, le 18 octobre 2023 — L'Église anglicane fait officiellement don aujourd'hui de la parcelle de terrain sur laquelle repose le monument de la Roche noire à la Fondation du parc du Monument irlandais de Montréal. L'Église anglicane détenait cette parcelle de terrain d'une superficie d'environ 734 mètres carrés depuis 1870. Cette propriété foncière est un élément clé dans la création d'un parc commémoratif en hommage aux personnes inhumées sur ce site historique, qui se trouve au sommet de la plus grande fosse commune au Canada.
